We won’t claim to be the best, as I believe it is up to the people we service to decide. What we will claim is that we guarantee to do our absolute best to make your experience at LPW a unique and enjoyable one. My hope is you will walk away from your time at LPW feeling better about yourself and having learned something new.
Fatherhood has a special way of creating a new drive in you. Especially, when you carry the burden of wanting to right the wrongs of your own father. Almost 6 years ago when I found out that I was going to be a father, I knew that I had to get my life together. On the outside, I was the fun – loving, athletic comedian that always seemed to fit in and add value. On the inside I was still that scared little boy wondering why his father was never around. These feelings led to life -long issues with anxiety and ultimately depression after my father’s untimely death. The birth of my son caused me to finally seek help to deal with these issues and the results were astounding. For once in my life, I felt like I was present and ready to live life through my own views and dreams. Not those which had been projected onto me or unrealistic expectations that I placed on myself based on my personal trauma.
As I looked around, I realized the major components in my life that had helped me stay afloat. I started asking myself questions such as, what helped me cope with all the pain I was feeling inside and which parts of my life do I truly enjoy? The first things that came to mind were community, education and fitness. The best parts of my life always included life long friendships made participating in sports or fitness related activities. Whether it be competing in gymnastics (where I’m from we called it tumbling), the love that I will always have for my brothers of Purcell Marian who I had the honor of winning a baseball state championship with, or friends and family I’ve made coaching and competing in CrossFit and now Olympic Weightlifting. It never mattered what the sport or event was, my friends became my family and these bonds always allowed us to push each other to new heights mentally and physically.
I searched for therapy and other methods to help myself heal. I realized that exercise was a very important form of recovery. After securing our current space, I knew what I had to do. I had to give people an opportunity to have access to the best health and wellness practices all in one place.
Lion’s Pride Wellness Center became the name of our building. A place where people could choose from a variety of options for training and recovery. I am so excited to share this vision and our space with the surrounding community. We believe we have something for everyone. We believe in hard work, positivity and attention to detail. It would be an honor to assist you on your fitness and overall wellness journey. Peace and Positive Vibes.
